Young Family

The Young family has protected two farms, 140.28 acres 125.01 acres, and a third farm is pending in Richland Township, Fairfield County, Ohio.

The easements are held with the Board of Fairfield County Commissioners, the Ohio Department of Agriculture and are monitored by the Fairfield Soil and Water Conservation District. They are operated with conservation tillage with corn and bean rotations.

The farms are adjacent to lands of the Rushcreek Conservancy and help prevent development down stream of a class I dam. These farms along with three others help to prevent development on over 400 acres of flood way and floodplain below three of the Rushcreek Conservancy dams.
